Spotlight On: Le Marquis des Arbres

Le Marquis des Arbres is an eccentric yet reclusive dweller of the Forest of Leshiye. Little is known about this introverted artist beyond what we can learn from viewing their work. They create flamboyant sculptural art influenced by the natural habit and reflecting societys’ relationship to the environment.

For Dandifest 2017, Le Marquis des Arbres presents a new work celebrating pride, protest and pollination. In the 50th anniversary year of homosexuality becoming partially legalised in the UK, their interactive work invites you to stand in solidarity with bees, as we remember the importance, and power, of protest that has paved the way for freedom and equality.

You can explore their work at at St Margaret’s Church of Art, St Benedicts St, Norwich
